I Write: Past

Derelict.

I remember when it used to be just

Panic,

In disarray.

Frivolous.

I remember when I used to be just

Flippant,

In freedom.

Take a walk in my past.

Peer into the looking glass.

I’ve learnt not to say that

The grass is always greener.

Fade to black,

Some memories.

But the feelings stay with me

Making me who I am today.

Intrepid.

I remember when all was lust and wander.

Gutsy,

In discovery.

Insipid.

I remember when love was lost and wonder.

Forlorn,

In misery.

Take a walk in my past.

Peer into the looking glass.

I’ve learnt not to say that

The grass is always greener.

Fade to black,

Some memories.

But the feelings stay with me

Making me who I choose to be today.

What’s done is done

But what good I’ve done,

Let those stay undone.
