In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.
I realise now I hate falling ill. I used to like it because it gave me a reason to not turn up for school or work or social events. Lol.
But ever since I started being more focused on NH21, I find being ill to be such an inconvenience. It gets in my way so much. I have started to dislike being unproductive too.
So I turned in early yesterday at 9.45pm to give my body a good rest before getting back into the mood to work. Earlier during the day, I treated my husband and myself to bubble tea from Each-A-Cup @ Jalan Kayu via Grab. He did the laundry three days ago and cleared the choked drainhole below the kitchen sink two days ago. He scrubbed and cleaned the bathroom yesterday. He even cooked rendang yesterday. As for me, I simply vacuumed the living room with our new corded standing vacuum cleaner that I bought from NTUC Fairprice @ Vivocity for a steal! I had been looking for a cordless standing vacuum for convenience. I almost bought one from Courts @ NEX with my credit card but I remembered to not spend money I do not have from one of the wisdom sayings hung at the SG office. So that was a no-go. Last Sunday, after walking with my colleague from the workplace to her home, I went to the NTUC Fairprice @ Vivocity. I initially wanted to buy some sports equipment but I wandered off to the electronics section and checked out the prices there, which I felt were more wallet-friendly. Once again, I found myself contemplating if I should use my credit card to buy one for $199. In the end, I was approached by their sales representative. He recommended me to get a corded standing vacuum instead by a less known brand. It costs only $59.90 and he said it cleans better than the pricier and branded range, especially for households that have a lot of hair on the floor. He was able to back up his claim by showing me that the $59.90 one sucks up hair directly while the $199 one has a rotary brush where hair gets tangled instead of being sucked directly into the filter bag. I agreed with him and brought home that $59.90 vacuum in a sexy red colour. He said they brought in the colour for the festive season. Best part is I used five pieces of the $10-grocery voucher that the government issued so I ended up paying $9.90 only. I actually had 6 pieces on me and could have gotten it for free entirely but decided not to forego the 10 cents. Lol.
It helped me feel motivated to clean my house because I do not have to assemble and disassemble it each time I want to use it.
And yeah, that vacuum is fucking powerful, man. It was hard for me to lift it off the ground because of the suction power. Eventually, it became easier as more dirt clogged up the filter area. Such was the dirty state of my house!
I need to get about three more pieces of furniture for my home. Our bedframe broke, our sofa ripped, and our washer no longer spun the way it should.
But I do not think we could get all three soon. We will be spending a lot of money next month due to social events, which will also act as short respites. I cannot wait to hang out with the boys and jam with them as well as help my sister out with her wedding and if I do decide to take up the SGRediscover package, I might hang out with husband at Madame Tussauds and sleepover at some dodgy hotel. Lol.
However, I think I might get us a bed next month. Good sleep and safety are important after all.
How will I be getting the money? After enquiring with the supermarket about a vacancy near my home, I hope to land an ad-hoc night position there. I intend to work four hours on the nights I am working during the day. So maybe 10pm to 2am. I think that will be manageable.
I digressed. I was talking about feeling ill earlier, right? Well, I am feeling a whole lot better now after sleeping early.
I woke up at 7am today with a slight jolt because morning prayer was going to end in 11 minutes. Rushed out of the bed to get my ablution done. Prayed and read a page from the Quran! (#NH21) After that, I exercised for 5 minutes and felt even more energised after! (#NH21)But I got so hungry that I had Myojo’s instant Tom Yum noodles and Julie’s Butter Crackers with Owl’s Strong Instant Coffee after. Lol. There goes my exercising efforts!
I weighed myself as well in the morning. Thanks to the stomach flu virus, I dropped from 60.5kg to 58.9kg. That leaves me with another 3.9kg to lose for the rest of the year. Easier than having to lose 5kg if you ask me! (#NH21)
So yeah, I am glad to have a good start to the work week. I will be working for three days starting today, off one day, working for four days, and then a three-off-day break for me. Yippy! Can’t wait, can’t wait!
Let’s put the pedal to the metal!
가자!
And Allah knows best. – MM
